Hindi Poet, Gazalkaar, Author, Editor and Educator

Ramakant was born in a small village named Pure Lau (Barara Bujurg) in Dalmau, the historical city of Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, the land of work of Mulla Dawood and Nirala. He considers literature to be synonymous with life. Ramakant, a post graduate in Hindi, History and Journalism and Mass Communication, is a teacher by profession. Apart from various forms of literature, he is also an expert in Ghazal. Without tampering with the delicate threads of Ghazal, he skilfully weaves the changing times and the concerns of society in his Ghazals. Progressivism is his basic tone and protection of humanity is his priority. A kind of activism is also present in his ghazals like other genres. ‘Nritya men Avsad’ (Haiku Collection), ‘Sadak par Gilahari’ (Contemporary Poetry Collection), ‘Jo Hua Tum Par Hua Hum Par Hua’ (New Song Collection), ‘Bazaar Hans Raha Hai’ (Navgeet Sangrah) are his major works. Apart from these he has also edited many books on different genres . He is also the editor of the Contemporary Hindi literary magazine ‘ Yadi ‘.
